The FCFCOA hosted a successful public launch of the Lighthouse initiative in Sydney on Monday 5 December 2022.
The event was attended by a number of VIPs including some of our local judges, the Commonwealth Attorney-General the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP, the Hon Elizabeth Evatt AC, President of the Children’s Court of NSW Judge Skinner, President of the Australian Bar Association Mr Peter Dunning KC, and the National Children’s Commissioner Ms Anne Hollands. In addition, there were representatives from FASS and the domestic violence and legal sectors.
The event and the Lighthouse initiative received extremely positive support from key speakers Ms Rosie Batty AO, Mrs Sue and Mr Lloyd Clarke, and Mrs Danielle and Mr Rhys Carroll – whose families have been impacted by family violence.
The event received significant broadcast media coverage from all of the major television networks including SBS, ABC, and Channels 7, 9 and 10. A media package can be viewed from the Courts' YouTube channel.
